First-Ever Judicial Elections

On June 2nd, 2025, Mexico held its first-ever judicial elections for nearly 2,700 federal and state judges to combat corruption. However, the polls are criticized as a power grab by the ruling Morena party, which already controls the presidency and Congress. Experts warn the elections could undermine judicial independence and empower candidates with criminal ties.

Colorado Terrorist Attack

The FBI launched an investigation into a possible terror attack in downtown Boulder, Colorado, after a man used a homemade flamethrower and Molotov cocktail on members of a pro-Israel group. Twelve people in a downtown Boulder pedestrian area suffered burn injuries; one had life-threatening wounds. Mohamed Soliman, the suspect, is in custody after being treated for minor injuries. Authorities have not determined a motive.

Ukrainian Drone Strike

Ukraine executed a meticulously planned drone attack—code-named Spider Web—striking multiple Russian air bases across vast distances, including Siberia. A total of 117 drones were smuggled inside trucks, targeting strategic bombers and early-warning aircraft. While Ukraine claims over 40 planes damaged or destroyed, Russia disputes the scale. Satellite images confirm significant damage at some bases. The operation marks a major blow to Russia’s long-range strike and nuclear deterrence capabilities.

North Korean Cell Phone

A North Korean smartphone was smuggled out of the communist country, revealing the extent to which the regime monitors and censors its citizens. The phone automatically replaced South Korean terms with regime-approved language, like changing “South Korea” to “puppet state” and “oppa” to “comrade.” The smartphone also secretly captured screenshots every five minutes, storing them in hidden folders only accessible to authorities.

Bromance Breakup

In a surprise Tweet on X, Elon Musk blasted President Trump’s “Big Beautiful Budget Bill” as pork-filled and disgusting. The bill is expected to add $3.8 trillion to the national debt over 10 years, further increasing inflation.

It then escalated into a full-on social media feud. Trump kicked off the feud, stating he asked Musk to leave because he was “wearing thin.” Musk then retorted by implying Trump was a pedophile when he tweeted about releasing the Epstein list, showing that Trump was named. This caused a 14% drop in stock. See below

See the June 5th snapshot of Elon’s X account below.

(It was too onerous to include a snapshot of Trump’s Truth Social account.)
