Weekly World News
ICE Raid Protests in Los Angeles Turn Violent
On June 2nd, 2025, Mexico held its first-ever judicial elections for nearly 2,700 federal and state judges to combat corruption. However, the polls are criticized as a power grab by the ruling Morena party, which already controls the presidency and Congress. Experts warn the elections could undermine judicial independence and empower candidates with criminal ties.
National Guard Deployed to Los Angeles
President Trump ordered 2,000 National Guard troops to Los Angeles after protests erupted over federal immigration raids, deploying 300 soldiers to protect federal agents and property despite California Governor Newsom’s objections. The move, under federal Title 10 authority, is rare and has escalated tensions between state, federal, and city officials. Protests, some involving clashes and arrests, continued but were mostly peaceful by Sunday. Gavin Newsom accused Trump of manufacturing a crisis, while federal officials cited threats to local law enforcement and ICE agents.
Ukrainian Drone Strike
Ukraine executed a meticulously planned drone attack—code-named Spider Web—striking multiple Russian air bases across vast distances, including Siberia. A total of 117 drones were smuggled inside trucks, targeting strategic bombers and early-warning aircraft. While Ukraine claims over 40 planes damaged or destroyed, Russia disputes the scale. Satellite images confirm significant damage at some bases. The operation marks a major blow to Russia’s long-range strike and nuclear deterrence capabilities.
North Korean Cell Phone
A North Korean smartphone was smuggled out of the communist country, revealing the extent to which the regime monitors and censors its citizens. The phone automatically replaced South Korean terms with regime-approved language, like changing “South Korea” to “puppet state” and “oppa” to “comrade.” The smartphone also secretly captured screenshots every five minutes, storing them in hidden folders only accessible to authorities.

Air India Plane Crash
An Air India flight that crashed in Ahmedabad on June 12, 2025. The crash impacted the Byramjee Jeejeebhoy Medical College and Civil Hospital, specifically a building used as doctors' accommodation. This collision resulted in the deaths of at least 8 people, including 4 medical students, as reported by a senior health official to the BBC. The crash not only caused the deaths of 245 passengers and crew but also affected the medical school community on the ground. The Tata Group, which owns Air India, has committed to covering the hospital bills of those injured and assisting in rebuilding the damaged hostel, indicating the extent of the impact on the medical college's infrastructure and its residents.
I'm sorry, but there's no possible way a human being walked away from that plan crash in India with nearly a scratch.

Bromance Breakup
In a surprise Tweet on X, Elon Musk blasted President Trump’s “Big Beautiful Budget Bill” as pork-filled and disgusting. The bill is expected to add $3.8 trillion to the national debt over 10 years, further increasing inflation.
It then escalated into a full-on social media feud. Trump kicked off the feud, stating he asked Musk to leave because he was “wearing thin.” Musk then retorted by implying Trump was a pedophile when he tweeted about releasing the Epstein list, showing that Trump was named. The online tirade ended with Elon doing a survey for a new political party.
